Pixart Imaging will begin to sample its MEMS chips for the Nintendo Wii from Q4 onwards, offering some semblance of a challenge to Analog Devices (ADI) and STMicroelectronics who are currently Nintendo’s MEMS chip suppliers where the Wii is concerned. Pixart Imaging already supplies the Wii’s infrared sensor, and it looks quite likely for any next generation Wii to continue relying on infrared solutions, although we would like to see something more dependable roll out in the future.
